To Nicki Minaj’s dismay, Instagram announced that it is removing the likes on posts from public view.

Now the Megatron rapper says she will boycott the platform for removing the feature that gives stars like Minaj clout on social media.

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri recently announced that the likes feature will hit the US soon. It has already been tested in other markets. Although users will still see the likes on posts, their followers won’t, UpRoxx reports.

Minaj took to Twitter to air out her ire over the new plan, writing, “I’m not posting on IG after this week cuz they removing the likes. Hmmmm what should I get into now? Think of all the time I’ll have with my new life.”

According to Minaj, Instagram users have become social media stars because of the power of likes on the platform which is a clear indication of their influence and reach.

“We are so easily pacified. Harriet would never. Y’all smoking d*ck if y’all think labels ain’t pissed about the level of power independent artists now have by way of IG. They all work TOGETHER. Unlike us… settling for crumbs.”

Here’s a series of posts from Minaj giving her take about the removal of likes.

Tweeting and sharing her dismay is what Minaj recently did, and it got her put on blast for tweeting she prefers white media over Black media.

Minaj was being called to task just last week for a tweet claiming that online, she is treated better by white people than “the blacks.”

Who are “the blacks” that the rapper is referring to?

Minaj, who has since deleted the troublesome tweet, is believed to have been referring to Black media outlets– specifically, Wendy Williams.

“What the white ppl post. >>>>>>,” she wrote on November 5, according to Complex. “The blacks only post the few seconds where I raise my voice to push their narrative.”

“The blacks,” including some of Nicki’s fans, weren’t having it.

With those kinds of loose lips, Minaj has got to be careful with her constant criticisms because we don’t like it.
