Brandon T. Jackson said God punished him for playing a gay rapper

Actor Brandon T. Jackson’s been out of the limelight for a bit, and he thinks it’s partly due to God’s vengeance on him for previously playing a gay character, among other things.

The Tropic Thunder star played Alpa Chino, a down-low gay rapper in the hit comedy movie, and wore a dress in the 2011 comedy Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son, with Martin Lawrence. He told TMZ that ever since he assumed the roles, he’s had bad luck in life because he broke a religious law.

Jackson who identifies as a Black Hebrew Israelite, say he regrets going against God.

“I’m in covenant with the Most High God of Israel, so if you look at [Deuteronomy] 20, 22 and five, I broke that law,” he said. The Bible verse condemns men from wearing women’s clothing, and vice versa and cites it as an “abomination to God.”

“And when you break a law, you get punished,” he said. “If you don’t follow all the commandments that the Torah says to do, you’ll be cursed.”

Jackson said after assuming the roles he repented. “I was on thin ice then with The Father. But, he had mercy and his grace was there.”

Jackson believes although Tyler Perry had tremendous success wearing a dress as Madea, it didn’t serve his purpose in a positive way.

Said Jackson: “It may work for Tyler Perry… It didn’t work for me.”

Jackson’s career was once on a roll. He starred in Roll BounceTooth Fairy, and Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief.

Playing a gay character is Tropic Thunder is a role Kevin Hart turned down for fear of what others would think of him, but he still regrets not tackling the role.

Hart previously told hosts of The Breakfast Club on Power 105.1 about the role:

“The dude… He was doing a lot of stud in the draft that I read. It was real flagrant.

I can’t [play a gay character] because I don’t think I’m really going to dive into that role 100 percent, because of the insecurities about myself trying to play that part. What I think people are going to think while I’m trying to do this is going to stop me from playing that part the way I’m supposed to.”

T.I. Defends Jay-Z’s Controversial NFL Deal

According to ABC News, Clifford Joseph “T.I” Harris Jr. defends fellow rapper Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter’s deal with the National Football League.

“For me, I think that it shows…a level of inclusion,” T.I. said on The View. “One of the things that I was critical of the NFL for is kind of trying to…benefit from the culture without being true to the culture, and without actually tapping into resources and relationships that could speak for us authentically.”

He was referring to a partnership announced earlier this year between Jay-Z’ Roc Nation and the NFL as the league’s official Live Music Entertainment Strategists. The partnership, which went into effect at the start of the current 2019-20 season, will serve to strengthen community through music and the NFL’s Inspire Change initiative. This is bigger than “music and sports; it’s about unifying America,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell at an intimate press event held at Roc Nation’s New York City headquarters.

“You’ve been raising the consciousness of this country for decades. Why do you feel like partnering with the NFL will further your mission to inspire rather than doing what you’ve been doing, which seems to be speaking out against it?” BLACK ENTERPRISE asked the rapper at the time of the announcement.

“People have to evolve, and people have to want to be better,” Carter replied. “I believe real changes [are accomplished] through real conversation and real work. And what better way to do it, then where the conversation first took place.”

This isn’t the first time T.I. has come to the defense of Jay-Z’s partnership with the football league. In August, the rapper posted a video on Instagram stating, “What I hate most is that the oppressor takes advantage of opportunities like these to divide us and continue on with their operations as usual all too often,” he wrote. “I believe in what [Colin Kaepernick] represents as much as I believe in what [Jay-Z] represents [and] I ain’t gotta turn on either of them to do it.”

He also said last week that there are aspects of the NFL “that definitely need to be addressed, but the greatest journey begins with one step, and I feel like Jay-Z is a person that I trust, knowing his reputation and knowing him personally.”

“Support for Jay does not mean a lack of support for Kap or vice versa,” he declared.

Love & Hip-Hop’s Rich Dollaz arrested for missing child support court date

It seems that Love and Hip-Hop New York star Rich Dollaz is not ducking his child support obligations after all.

Several media outlets have reported that the father of four was recently arrested for failure $125,000 of pay back child support. But Dollaz cleared the air saying that’s not totally the case.

In fact, he told Hollywood Unlocked that he hasn’t missed a child support payment since he got arrested in 2014 for late support payments. This time he said he was detained specifically for failure to appear in court. He blames this absence on work. His hit reality show was filming episodes in Miami.

Dollaz said his child support payments had increased, and he had not been paying the difference in his child support payments. He was due to appear in court to address it. He said he was in and out of custody within two hours and the whole ordeal was sorted out.

Rich says he plans to pay the new amount, which includes the extra cash and says he’s not the “deadbeat dad” that he was accused of being on social media.

Well good for him for getting things right.

Dollaz whose real name is Richard Trowers, is a father of four and is paying off his arrears to his baby mamas.

He was arrested at his New Jersey home, Oct. 24th, jailed and transferred to the Hudson County Family Court, where he made $20,000 bail, but again, it was all due to his failure to appear.

The 42-year-old who has two daughters and two sons has been down this road a few times before battling his exes over back child support payments.

In 2014, he got in trouble for owing $11,000 and then in 2015, one of his baby mamas Chaundrea Nicolle took him to task over $200,000 in child support money he owed.
